Spiritual Healing in Newport News
Spiritual healing is a modality that is adaptable, non-invasive, and highly general in its application (it can be used for all sorts of things) and effective. Spiritual healing can be applied to emotional health and balancing, like working through chronic stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD and more, as well as what we think of as physical ailments like chronic pain in your lower back, poor digestion, insomnia etc. But the truth that spiritual healing really gets at is that the connection between our emotional self, our physical self, and our spiritual selff is one worth recognizing, honoring, and treating. What does that mean?
Let's take insomnia for example. Let's say you have a very stressful conversation right before you go to bed and you don't do anything to process the emotion or transform the tension. (That's really what spiritual healing is, by the way: moving and transforming the energy so it's not stuck in your body). The emotional and spiritual energy actually becomes a physical "problem" and you can't sleep well that night.
Now let's take it a step further: say you have had a whole lot of hard conversations the past few months and you don't do anything to process the emotions--then you've got a chronic physical problem (meaning it repeats itself over a long period of time) that ends up looking like what we call insomnia. The emotional stress has become a physical state of chronic lack of sleep, which then leads to all sorts of hormone imbalances, your brain health begins to fray, digestion goes whack. You get the picture.
The point is, it's of deep importance to take care of yourself as you go along in life, rather than waiting for things to fall apart.
This is what spiritual healing is all about. It's about the steady, daily attention of what is happening within and without your body and mind. Spiritual healing can be applied to any depth of ailment: chronic or acute, trauma from 30 years ago or trauma from last week; the only requirement is that you begin somewhere.

More on Spiritual Healing
Ultimately spiritual healing is about lifting the veil of our "normal" perception and gazing into what is happening in the metaphysical background of our life. Some call this metaphysical background the spiritual plane. Call it whatever you want, but it's definitely there and chances are that you've had an encounter (or many!) in your life and maybe didn't have someone there to validate it and call it a spiritual experience.
There's a whole variety of ways to engage in spiritual healing and all of my offerings are related it to spiritual healing in one way or another.
One thing I will say about spiritual healing is that the process is greatly catalyzed by having a guide. A guide is someone who can give you perspective that you simply cannot see. We all have limitations when it comes to self knowledge, especially when it comes to trying to heal an ailment or a disease. A guide, healer, mentor, coach, and so on is someone who can give you that perspective until you see yourself in new light. A guide is someone who can take on the task of healing with you--not for you!--with you.
As a guide, I do not heal you: you heal yourself, and I help you by giving you perspective, questions, healing tools, and maybe give you a boost every now and then.
Spiritual Healing is particularly potent especially when used in the context of other healing modalities, as a sort of mosaic of healing.
Healing typically requires multiple angles and I find that spiritual healing is particularly potent alongside energy medicine and energy healing.

Some more on Energy Work
In simplest terms, "energy work" is a form of therapy where a person receives help in returning their energy back to a place of balance. To meet that end, various forms and techniques are used (for example reiki, massage, sound therapy, or kinesiology). In this sense, energy work is really a catch-all term, or a category that multiple therapies and modalities fall under. Who knew, right?
So what is energy anyways? "Energy" is not some woo-woo, esoteric term, although some folks use it that way.
See it like this: all of life in this rapidly expanding universe is propelled and sustained by different forms of energy. Everything--your phone, your neighbor's dog, the Sun, and your countertop stove are all conduits for energy. So are you. Humans ain't no exception, my friend.
Some of our energy you can see, hear, and touch (like our biceps or our voices) some of our energy you can't see or touch, but you sure as heck can feel it (like emotions, anticipating a good meal, or the pheromones that help attract us to our loved ones).
In this context, human energy also includes more nuanced things like an aura--yes, I said aura--which in science-y language is the electromagnetic field around our bodies.
Other words that might be helpful: life-force, mojo, power, qi, vibes, vitality, animation.
The language around this is constantly evolving and has been for thousands of years.
So what does Energy work "do"?
If we could say anything here, let's just say I help you get your mojo back. It's that simple.
Over the past decade, through personal experience, research, and study, I have honed in on several types of energy work that I feel are the most effective and useful: I bring together kinesiology, manual massage, working with thought and belief patterns, Reiki, sound healing, relationship counseling, spiritual healing, energy medicine and more.
My approach to energy work or energy medicine is to take several healing modalities and put them in one tool-box.
In this way, I am able to approach a person from many different angles of healing rather than just one or two. Obviously, this is really helpful in facilitating a healing process because human beings aren't one dimensional--we have many aspects and facets to us that need attention if we are to heal in a major way.
